Ok, I finally released my first album. Everything was recorded with cheap equipment like free amp/cap simulations, free drum samples and an 100$ interface. I'm excited to hear your opinions! :)

Here's the full album on youtube:

If you like it you can download it for free from bandcamp:

    Have fun!

Sweet tone man! What vst did you use for that sound in sunset?

Thanks a lot man! :) What tone do you mean? Do you mean the guitar or the synths? ;)

Thanks! For the rhytm tones I used Lepou's Legion amp sim and for the leads Lextac. Of course there are some other vsts in the signal chain like a compressor or TSE's tubescreamer.
    I hope that helps ;)

This is pretty good. It's hard to go wrong with the proven free vsts like lepou, tse, etc. when enough time and effort is applied.

Could it be better...of course. Which is the case with most "home" productions. That said, you are probably not a mastering engineer. And it's also the reason there are people that mix and others who master. Not saying it can't be done by one individual...but it is not easy.

Much better than I could do by myself...

    Good work!

Edit: I hope that one day I will be able to produce/mix something that compares to this...once again, nice job.

That's nice to hear mate! I have to admit that the sound could be better, but I'm pretty happy with it (even more if I take a look at my mastering chain with 4 free plugins).

Anyway just continue with mixing/mastering on your own. You'll get better and you'll learn new stuff almost every day ;)

    Cheers

I like the way the guitar tones turned out, really heavy sounding. I'm curious about the synths though, they sound awesome!

The synths were done with the Plugins from Fl Studio 10. I used toxic biohazard, sytrus and sakura for most of them. When it comes to synths Fl Studio is really powerful I guess ;)

I'm also searching for vocalists to get some vocal versions done. Just in case someone is interested ;)
