    What's up folks!

I wanted to share my band GRID's first single "Thunderclap" off our debut album "Overlook" due out on 5/4

We're an instrumental band, and as the title states, I think you'll dig it if you like those bands.

Here's a link to the single up on Bandcamp. Thanks for checking it out!

Not bad! The production left a little to be desired, but it was pretty enjoyable, otherwise!

I like alot of the bands listed, and I dig the vibe you guys are going for; the production does sound a little off to me as well - not enough atmosphere/breathing room it felt like? Hope to hear more.

Thank you both very much for checking it out! I really appreciate it a lot.

We are still working on the master with our engineer. This was a big step up for us, as compared to our ep. I will take those suggestions though, and see if we can work with it a little.

The album will be out in two weeks if you are interested in hearing more.

Honestly...it stems back from when our drummer Matt and I worked in a calendar printing company, printing calendar grids all day. When we started the band I asked him what he wanted to name it, and he simply said “GRID”.

Of course if you have seen the recent Freddy Mercury documentary...you’d see it also stands for something else...

I like it man! Though the drums seem a little loud in the mix. Evening those out with the guitars/ambience might help the sound a little. Very cool otherwise.

But what I think doesn't matter, as long as you're having fun with it!

I haven't seen it, but I'm in medicine (well taking a hiatus, but same difference) and that's exactly why I asked lol.

Nice work Brian! I love the song and the sound, but as stated above the mix and/or the mastering needs a little something done to it.

Thank you very much for listening dude.

Yeah, I think I will have him bring the drums down a little more. He normally works with extreme metal, and told us up front, he mixes drums so they are in your face. We have actually brought them down a bit already. He's been an absolute pleasure to work with though, and I'm sure will have no problem taking care of that for us.

Hahaha, yeah. I had just gotten a text from my drummer...same dude who came up with the name, last week saying "So...I found out what GRID really stands for..."

Thanks Chris! You just like it because there's a Sig X in there. I mixed the Sig X, with a Dual rec, and the Verellen.

 You're welcome and that is true!

But seriously the tone is heavy as hell in some parts! Did you dual track each eamp?

Thanks dude! I'm glad to hear that. I'm the only metalhead in the band...so I try to bring the heavy when I can. I believe the end of this song captures it pretty well.

So, I have the Dual Rec on the left, the Sig X on the right, and the Verellen on both sides but lower in the mix.
