I feel bad for bouncing between projects on various threads, so I hope in the future to keep it more simple here.
Currently going through the unfinished projects in the garage, and making some good progress on a few at a time.

Here are the main ones that I hope to get done with my side time in the next year or so. I'm planning to expand the shop soon, so finishing these should be more feasible in a short amount of time.

This one is first in the queue to finish. It was supposed to be done a year ago, but life got in the way and I started to lose focus.

These all have a place in my head of how and when they'll be done

This one is part of my 'guitar camp', a young cub scouti wanting to make this his own and we're getting there pretty quickly. He really enjoyed the neck prepping and it's time for inlays and frets. Updated should come quickly on this one.

Next up is this wenge, bubinga, sapele, pme and maple monstrosity, should be one of my mains when finished.

I just finished setting the string retainer bar in place, next is the control cavity. So far this one is coming along better than anything else I've made.

So stay tuned, I'm dedicating much more time to this lately in the downtime between job hunting. Thinking of going back to my old company part time, just so there is a steady income stream. Cheers y'all

Whoops, here's the guitar camp build. There's three more nearly identical 'kits' if anyone else comes by.

Those hemi frets look really nice. I need to give those a try soon, filing is driving me slightly crazy.

Thanks! They take a while to setup, where the lengths have to be really precise, but you don't have to dress the ends later :yesway:

That's funny. I'm currently doing EXACTLY the same thing as you.
Rearranging the shop / finishing old projects / building guitars for kiddo's (although my kiddo's are still a bit too young to help out)

Yeah, guy above is a family friend, he's going to be a farmer one day, but he wants to learn to play and for now is excited about building his own.
My kiddo is only 4 and he doesn't have much interest at this point.

I'm currently working on a business plan. Over the next few months, I should be able to utilize a larger space, and if so I'll be moving in a small CNC, drum sander etc. at which point I'd be able to do small production runs.

Ahhh, I say start em young. I built a guitar for the niece and my oldest son when they were both 2. that way it's there as they grow up and they can just pick it up and "jam".
my son is about 4-1/2 and he's starting to do just that from time to time.....
The next batch is for the youngest son and my nephew and then I'll be done with mini guitars for the foreseeable future. (which means more builds for me YAY!!!!)

Progress on the guitar camp build. I used a table router to rough out the body contour...

After which I and "Lil J" used a little block to sand the edge to 220 grit.

I did the side dot holes just bc it's so easy to screw them up. Also we did the tuner holes. We'll be filling the holes with yellow glow powder/epoxy mix.

Really want to see what you do with the controls on that. The build looks awesome!

Yeah, I had to get creative since the cavity depth is less than an inch. It won't be long now...

Oh l got derailed again lol. Started a new sales job...and I'm surprised how much I love it, never thought of myself as a salesman before. Actually I just really like hearing people's stories and it's the perfect environment for that.

Christmas coming up and my wife has been requesting a cutting board. So here's that, nearly done. Hopefully will be cured well enough to use by the end of the month.

    Sanded, and oiled.

I considered using half and half (half Tung, half citrus) for this as a deep penetrating oil might last a bit longer. Ultimately I think the Tru Oil preserves color the best, so I'll see how it holds up after three months.
