    Hey guys :wavey:
It has been a while since I posted something, but I can't let The Armada show all of the MO sweet jams! And I have to confide in my KC pride to duel is STL pride.

    In this I used:
    -Axefx Ultra
    -RG7620
    -SD 2.0
    -Izotope Ozone 4

Its a 9 min song entitled "Lose." It has a heavy TesseracT influence to me, but whatev. Without further a do. Lose.

Sorry, there is no such thing as anything "good" coming from Missouri in the last 50 years, especially music. :fawk:

    :(

JK! Sounds rad. Definite TesseracT influence. Drums too low/guitars too high in the mix. Kick needs some work, snare could use a bit more punch. Do want your AxeFX though... ;) Your playing is tight, but goes ever so slightly off time every now and again, never often.

Don't get me wrong, this mix is better than mine. I just gotta speak muh words. :)

    Super rad duder. :)

    EDIT:
Also, thanks for the shoutout.

Yeah I definitely need to hammer this tune out a couple more times
And I figure I give a shoutout for a fellow mate of the state(I went there).

Thank you very much for the mixing tips though. Thats why I posted it, for criticism to make this song better 10 full! :yesway:

What are you using in Ozone? Honestly, the only thing I'm willing to use it for is its smart limiter. Beyond that, the "Harmonic Maximizer" just makes it harsh, as does most of the other silly shit in there.

I'm using it for EQing and dynamics(thresholds and stuff for bass). I use Garageband for my DAW so Ozone is a huge step up from the AUGraphicEQ garageband offers.

Also the CD Master function is sweet as hell to get all my soungs level to one volume.

Drums are not present and it makes the whole mix sound like it's not.

    E: Love the PTH influence!

GIVE ME YOUR CRAZY DRUM MIXING ABILITIES

But in all seriousness, I really need to work on making them "pop" and cut through the mix more.

As for the influence, I'm flattered. Thanks guys.

I can try to help you out with them, but not for a couple of days. I've got a lot to do. However, I'll try to give you some pointers tomorrow (lets say... in 17 hours )

BTW, I listened throught the whole song.. and I can say that when I'm @ ss.org and I see a 9 minute song... it's not often when I listen it throughout.

Liked the solo @ somewhere around 1/3 mark. Some rhythms didn't fit my taste (in the solo), but it was :yesway:.

Every time you check out my stuff you are always a big help, or a really big motivator with the nice feedback. And for that my friend I say thank you. :wavey:

And thank you for the solo comment also! I was nervous about how it would turn out. I've never written a section that was solo dominant. :ugh:

Yea there's definitely some tightness issues in the solo. The first part of the solo had some icky rhythms between phrases. Made it sound like you didn't have enough time to finish the phrases. This is just my opinion, and I tend to be a little nit-picky with these things.

The drusm... First of all, too much ambience mic. Set the ambience mic levels from -infinite and up from there. They can be really low on the mix. I'm not sure if the guitars are hard panned. It would give nice space for everything else in the middle.

Work on the ambience mic and I can give you further instructions. Also, turn off bleed on snare and kick drums. You can do this from your mixer in SD UI. you don't want the snare and kick to bleed in either, ambience or overhead mics.

I worked on what you said for the drums, and they sound sooooo much better and less FLERBy. Sry haven't replied been a hectic week. I'll be sure to post an update soon!

You guys have the current biggest influence on contemporary jazz and jazz guitar, Pat Metheny.
