Suddenly, my laptop doesn't play MIDI files. Or it does, but I hear no sound, with either my interface or the integrated sound card. I get no error messages in media players, or anything that plays MIDI (tab editor). I tried troubleshooting and installing Windows MIDI Out Setter, no results. What's going on?

    Edit: I'm on Windows 10, 64-bit.

Problem solved. Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth had mysteriously disappeared, but reappeared after troubleshooting and restarting the computer. It looks like all other MIDI synths (VirtualMIDIsynth and my interface's midi synth) are dependent on it, at least in my case, and were unable to play MIDI, even though they should work independently.
