I'm throwing a Christmas party this weekend and plan on sprinkling some metal (and punk) into the standard Christmas party music. Outside of Christmas albums (ABR, Bad Religion) are there any songs you guys recommend? Doesn't need to be a holiday song, just something that fits the overall Christmas vibe. Stuff about snow, winter, bleak elven slaves, overly cheery melo-death, etc

It's been something of a tradition for me to listen to Wintersun around this time of year. Either the first album or Time I, they both work. Lots of wintery themes.

Apart from that, there's Sonata Arctica, Nightwish, Korpiklaani... you really can't go wrong with most Finnish bands...

Bad Religion did an album of Xmas songs and its my goto music when I grab a beer in the office on the last day of work. Worth a listen.

^That is a great album. I've had it in my car every Christmas the last few years.

Not metal but Lindsey Stirling released a Christmas album:

Gosh, there are tons of heavy metal Christmas songs/albums. Coming to mind off the top of my head are Metallica, Korn, Slipknot, Lemmy, Dio, Manowar, King Diamond, Halford, etc. etc.

Of course there is Trans-Siberian Orchestra/Savatage, Gary Ho-Ho-Hoey, and so forth.

    Also, this exists:

    And along the same line:

But, yeah, Gary Hoey is a Detroit favourite:

Yeah, I think ABR wins the Christmas metal category.

I think Spotify has both metal and pink Christmas song playlists. My wife had them running on a drive we took this weekend.

$8 for a 1 month subscription for them to do all the work.

This is pretty cool, even though I have no idea who this guy is:

Kind of goofy towards the end.

Fuck yeah, lots to work off of now :metal: I've already added the ABR and Bad Religion Christmas albums to the playlist

A few co-workers are stopping by that know absolutely nothing about my music tastes. It's gonna be fun

They've been mentioned already, but Wintersun and Immortal are wicked this time of year (I just pretend it's winter here, it's 25-30 degrees C day in day out at the moment!)
