Feels a tiny bit thin, but that may be intentional on your part so that the bass can fill in that layer. Other than that it's quite good! I'd just suggest boosting the 300Hz are a little bit. It sounds like you have the 500-600 range pushed (shocking on this forum, I know  ), but one thing I've found that is when you push the 500s but don't add a bit of low end you get a sort of sterile, very dry tonality

Yeah, I want the bass to fill out the low end more or less, I was playing around 500Hz but I may try the 300 range. I am just experimenting and once I found the perfect sound I will end up with my tone, well until I want to improve on it some more. Been spending alot of time trying to get this and well... here we are 2 years later

I had a hunch that's what you were doing - I do the exact same thing

What I do with EQing is focus one guitar at 450Hz-550Hz, the other at 550-650Hz, then have the bass focused on 100-350Hz. It allows the entire low end to be filled up, and when mixed it sounds huge. Focusing at different frequencies also allows for each instrument to stand out while being blended in at the same time. One thing I did hear in your mix (going slightly off topic from tone, but the mix plays a huge role in the overall tone) is that everything was slightly muddied together. Unfortunately that's the nature of playing on ERGs, but playing with each instruments EQ can really help separate and blend each instrument. Playing around with that can actually bring out the tone you're aiming for.

Take for example Bulb's Axe FX rhythm preset. In isolation it sounds kind of weak and somewhat "distant", but within the context of a mix...well, we all know how that sounds

Any help is better than none my friend. I mean I've struggled to find even this tone. I mean if you look in some of my older works. You'll notice just how much more clarity I've managed to get. But now that I've found the beginings of a formula, I actually feel one step closer with advice like you've offered to getting that NOICE tone. Just little more tweaks to go!

The 200-450 area on bass is always where the majority of the ugliness comes from for me. I usually eradicate that area. But I do the copied bass track thing, one for low end one for grit

I did that, you won't be able to make it out on this part of the track but there is a more gritier end of it. The B.O.D is an awesome o.d plugin for bass. Just wish I had the cash for an actual 5 string. :|

Really! That's cool, I want too, I really wanna get some people together to get some of this material out there for people to listen too live. Just finding the musicians and balancing college is the problem I have.
