Although the songs are not complete I would like some input on my sound/compression/bass/guitar tone. Tell me what you think and if you dig the songs in general!

Well unfortunately I don't have any productive things to say.

But I will say I really dig that sound a lot.

And I was wondering if you had any advice for a complete "noob" because my stuff sounds awful.

    Sounds good! I enjoyed it.

Though I'm Not sure how i feel about the effect going on starting at 2:36.

    Quality stuff...IMO.

Guitars sound hollow....is there bass? I'd work on guitar tone, solidifying the drums and making the bass present. Bass alone would help the guitar. JMHO

Yeah in fact that one is the one with bass.

But the bass is just my guitar pitch shifted.

Its a bit dry, needs more depth, use reverbs somewhere, like more on the snare, or some kind of ambient guitar or ambience, a pad etc.

Edit: Turn the guitars down a bit too, kick/snare up and overall drum bus (or overheads/room) up too, you'll get more natural reverberation that way too!
