Definitely the Pentode/Triode feature wasn't on my old JCM2000. Everything else looks the same, including the shared EQ, which is what sunk it for me in the first place.

But if it's the same amp, why isn't it called JCM 2000 anymore?

The JCM2000 series was discontinued quite a few years ago.. This is a new version of the amp. Has the 100w/50w mode and a resonance control instead of a deep switch.

Right, the deep switch. Or the mud switch. Man, that thing would bury any cut the amp had and you'd just be some mushy mess under the snare drum.

I don't believe the new DSL is manufactured in the UK either.

For $750, I would gladly buy one if it sounds like the old JCM2000 DSL100. Will have to wait for reviews and see.

I own a jcm2000 dsl 100 and used to have a dsl 50. I LOVE them. especially the 100. I play the new one almost everyday at work and while it is a decent amp it does not compare.

I used to own an old dsl100 and man did that thing have a nice tone. I only played briefly through one of the new "H" series and it sounded thin and frail. I do miss the old one. Probably one of the nicest tones I've heard. I've considered selling my dual rec to get one. But I have trouble justifying "stepping backwards".
