Mackie HD1221 vs Mackie DLM12

I've chosen to go the FRFR route for my Axe-fx II, so I'm looking to purchase a powered speaker to start. Mackie seems to be a really reputable brand and were highly recommended to me, but I'm not sure which of these speakers would work best:

Mackie HD1221


Mackie DLM12


The HD1221 seemed to be a go to speaker for many people seeking FRFR setups, but the new DLM12 seems to more compact, versatile, and loud. Is there a sacrifice in sound quality for these advantages? Any knowledge you guys could share on these would be immensely helpful, thanks!

It's mostly a difference of form factor, though there is some benefit of the coaxial speaker design in regards to phase alignment of the drivers in the DLM line.

I love my DLM8, after going thru most of the "smaller" FRFR options. It's pretty good if you can get it used, but if you are gonna spend over $1000, go for the Atomic CLR obviously
