Exciting stuff! It'll take a while for them to reach me over here, but I have a new RG7421 to test them out in! It'll be a lot of fun to do these comparisons.

Popped some of the new Lundgren THE ONE 7-string pickups in an RGD2127FX Violet Chameleon today. Just sounds flawless. Amazing lead and rhythm tone, one of the better pickups I've heard for basswood 7-strings for sure!

Not to derail from the pickups but that looks amazing! Now that these have been out in the wild for a few months, do you know if they suffer from the same "glossing" that happens with the satin black models? Would you take The One over a Miracle Man in basswood?

Finish is fairly durable, it should be fairly resistant to that if you take care of the instrument. I don't like the Miracle Man pickup at all, theres way better BKPs for basswood than that IMHO. But to answer your question, yes I prefer the Lundgren over it.

No 9-strings at this time. Bare Knuckle makes a 9-string pickup however that I could get you.

Have you heard the bkp 9 stringer? I have a lace x-bar right now and am looking for something hotter. I would love it if my erg could sound like the dimarzios in my jem.

No i haven't. I cant (and wouldn't) play a 9-string so I have no idea, but I assume being a BKP that it will be about as good as it possibly can get. The Lace X bars tend to be fairly muddy in my experience with the Strandbergs.

They came in Friday, but the post office on base wasn't open until today. I'm too excited to throw them in and give them a test drive!

Nice good to see they came in. Let me know what you think of 'em. Remember to play with the pickup height as they're very sensitive to that :)

NIck, how would you describe the difference between the Sucker Bucker and The One?

NIck, how would you describe the difference between the Sucker Bucker and The One?

The Suckerbucker is very high output, very tight, very thick. Really a brutal sounding pickup, but also with terrific lead voicings. It reminds me kind of the BKP Blackhawk or Ceramic Warpig in its power and growl, but it has its own character. It sounds especially good in mahogany guitars but still sounds huge in bright guitars too.

The One is hot too but a bit more refined than the SB, and is a bit more polished. The SB is very raw and just in your face. They're both really cool, its hard to describe them because they sound so unlike other pickups you've likely heard before. The only thing I can say is, I tend to like The One in medium to brighter guitars and the Suckerbucker in medium to warmer guitars, if that helps.

I plan on making clips soon I promise!!

It helps a lot, thank you!!

by "more polished" do you mean it is less aggressive?
i am really curious about the clips.

Its not less aggressive, no. It just I guess is a bit darker and not as edgy, but still plenty of bite and growl.

Well you got me extremely curious about the one when you said it reminded you of a cross between the nazgul and the aftermath.
i got both. i love my aftermath. but there is just something about the nazgul that i do not like, i think your description "flubby" fits.

really looking forward to your clips nick :)

Nick, you said the One can be somewhat compared to the ceramic Warpig. Which of those two has more cut in the highs in your oppinion?

Is the One available as F-spaced 6 string version?
