I am going to buy a new seven string and i am between these two. I will replace the pickups in either guitars with bare knuckle blackhawks. I prefer the organic sound of passives as I play mostly Northlane, Elitist stuff. I thing the 25.5 scale is easier for playing more technical stuff, but on the other hand the baritone scale is better for low tunings. (the tuning of my band is G#) So I am really confused and I wonder if there is a huge difference in the sound. If anyone has tried them, please tell me your opinion or your suggestions. Please excuse me for my english. :)

You'd probably get used to the extended scale. If you don't like it, return it.

27" scale is perfect for G#.

And the H-1007 has an ugly headstock. :D

Actually, it is easy! From my experience, they were really helpful.

Back on subject, I'd get the baritone too (and love SC's taste in guitars), but scale is a matter of taste. I suggest you try to find a baritone in a shop and check how/if it suits you.

I have an rg8 ibanez that i am going to sell it to buy the 7string, but i think there are some differences between a baritone 7 and a baritone 8 such as the strings' height. The scale of the rg8 is ok but the strings' height is a little bit higher than i prefer and to be honest i don't know if I can change it. thanks for the advice.

String height can always be modified, so it should be the last thing to trouble you! Any guitar tech, if you don't want to do it yourself, will adjust it to your liking.

i don't think you can properly intonate a low G# with a 25.5" scale, but someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I'd take the h1007 simply for the fact that I despise the "neck" pickup position on all the Stephan Carpenter guitars.

Go the sct. Im pretty sure that Jon from northlane uses an E-II TB with blackhawks, so you would be close with the sct!
