Ok so I just got one of those news roundup type emails from Ibanez and I noticed there's a pic of a 7 string FR with what looks like an ash body but there's nothing on the website (yet) and it only links to a new Iron Label FR model that's a six string version of the one in this pic.

BTW The link to newsletter with the photo of the FR7 is here Ibanez | Plugged In July

Can anyone clear things up? is this some kind of photo typo or is it legit?

    For the lazy folk.

I'd assume it's legit given the photo and what appears to be the quality of the guitar itself. My gut wants to say it's a sig model that somebody ordered but that makes no sense to use in a promo for the Iron Labels.

I would guess it's a lo-trs trem but it's hard to tell from the photo :2c:

    I can dig it :agreed:

I've been considering a mid-level fixed bridge 7 string to take up to university so I can keep my DC7X safe at home, and I've always been a fan of the FR shape, so this seems promising!

That would have been really badass if it had a Tite End bridge.

If that FR was a Prestige I'd be all over it. I'm just not a fan of the Iron Label line. Kudos to Ibanez though, they've done great with the Iron Label.

Edge Zero II across the board these days. I don't think the Lo-Trs has seen use in quite a while, maybe almost a decade, thankfully.

FR is actually the guitar body shape in the middle of the photo. The telecaster kinda body. Thats what the OP is talking about, not a Floyd

The FR is the first iron label i would get. Get the frets done nicely and put the hipshot gibraltar on it and it would be a killer guitar

The Iron Label FR has a great wood grain and the Prestige FR is just plain black.

    What the hell, man.

^ Iron Label lets them save big money on labor and such. A Prestige with those same specs would be more expensive than many would want to pay.
