I'm looking to get a Les Paul kind of tone out of it. I'm thinking something along the lines of a PAF or something, maybe a little hotter. Would like to stick to Alnico, just something somewhat warm and well rounded. Something that can pull off everything from early 2000s hard rock to modern metal, definitely need a mahogany body and a 26.5 or 27 scale. Really not a huge fan of Ibanez. Any recommendations? I've been thinking about throwing passives in my Hellraiser but I really don't want to do that and I'm not sure how they would sound in there. Only passives I've heard in the Hellraiser are the stock ones Schecter puts in and I don't think they would be for me.

Oldschool C7 blackjack then. Jb/59, 26.5, all hog, 5way blade gets some fun tones.

I’d probably try a JB or Duncan Distortion in your Hellraiser.

For a hot PAF type sound, I have an 8-string with BKP Mules that has the brightness of a PAF-type but with quite a bit of output and low end too.

As for what guitar, I don’t know your budget. If I had around $1500, I’d probably look at something from Balaguer or Kiesel. Less than that but not Ibanez, probably another Schecter or one of the 27” LTDs.
