I second the Ibanez S-Series range.

Older MIJ models and newer Prestige MIJ ones might suit your alley.

Parker would be worth looking into, in that regard. The only caveat is that you'd have to resort to going on the used market.

Apart from guitars themselves, look into thicker guitar straps as well. If it's even more of a concern and you don't mind going outside the box with aesthetics, some double strap designs the like ones from Richter may be worth checking out, too.

Wow, I never knew double straps were a thing. I'm going to look like a huge dork but this might actually be exactly what I need. Thanks friend!

Kiesels can be ridiculously light even unchambered if you get lucky and get a light piece of wood. I'm selling a headless 7 that's only 5.5 pounds if you're interested: https://reverb.com/ca/item/40506958-kiesel-vader-7-2019-white

I have a semi hollow that's the same weight but because it's not headless, it's got a bit of neck dive. Nothing crazy, but after a couple hours wearing it on my surgically-repaired shoulder I really feel it. So I highly recommend a headless. The balance matters as much as the weight.

Man, I'd LOVE a 7-string parker. But the horror stories of the frets falling off the fretboard on such an expensive guitar keep the GAS at bay.

    This is fucking beautiful:

Headless is definitely the way to go, and stay away from dense woods. Chambered options also help a lot.
My Kiesel 8 is mostly walnut (super dense), chambered, and isn't too bad. Probably still 3 lbs lighter than my Jeff Loomis, that thing is freaking heavy.

Yeah, I had an agile intrepid that I liked a lot but I just can't play it anymore because it just messes me up.

I messaged Brandon over at Aristides and he confirmed that an H/07r is about 5.5 lbs give or take. I think I'm going to save up a little longer and then splurge on one of those bad boys.

Heafy from Trivium uses a double strap when playing his Les Pauls on tour - If it's good enough for a dude like that!...

I had an S series for a while and you didn't even know you had it on. The thing was a joy to look at too.

There was a prestige Ibanez s5527 that came in a green/grey burst that I almost pulled the trigger on about a year and a half ago. I'm really sad that I didn't because I've never seen one since.

So I weighed them last night, Kiesel is 6.2 lbs (Walnut neck thru, mahogany wings)
Schecter Jeff Loomis 7 FR, 8.6 lbs (Swamp ash, maple neck)
