If you're anything like me, when you got the new Musician's Friend catalog this week, you were probably thinking "Joe Perry? People still talk about Aerosmith?" No fan here, but let's talk about this Custom Gibson Les Paul he's got, presumably with a high price model coming out with the same specs in the near future. Thinner body LP with a Wilkinson tremolo. Looks like a nice neck joint carve too. FWIW, he mentions EMGs in the brief interview, though those are clearly not EMGs in the pics unless they started putting screws in the 57/66s. My main interest is that he talks a bit about the rolling nut and swears by it. I'm all Floyds these days, but I refuse to allow myself to sell my ESP Eclipse II. I am, however, looking to remedy the tuning situation that I've had with it and having never seen a rolling nut on a LP (though I'm guessing Carvin probably does this with some regularity on their single cuts), this caught my eye. Anyone else have experience with them. Thoughts? Genuinely superior to a well cut and lubed graphite or bone nut?
