Yeah I definitely agree with you, I was actually thinking about that when I posted my comment. It still seems pretty modern to me considering most guitars are just small variants of Les Pauls and strats which are 60+ years old.

I'd gladly rock either over their modern variants, TBH

I agree. The main reason they are coming back is that more convenient hardware has come to the market along with an emphasis on modern guitar styles where they're at home. The old Steinbergers required hard to get double ball end strings. It's amazing that they didn't seem to think of just using a locking nut like all the current hardware does.

Headless might be more useful on bass where you tend to have more neck dive issues and allegedly it can help avoid dead spots on the neck too. For guitar it just makes for something rather lightweight and ergonomic.

The original body design looked way better. What the f*ck happened here? And why did they change the body during production?

More $$ than a Kiesel. Price would need to come down $200-300 to be worth it, IMO.

Well, headless have officially jumped the shark. A god awful ugly body on a low end brand charging a premium price ($150 for a gig bag. Really?!).

What sucks is that of all of the headless bodies out there, there are precious few that aren't ugly stubby strays with their butts cut off.

That is too hideous, might as well just grab an OS for $400 more if the competition's design is that lacking

    In other news...

They have an updated tele model for old farts like me who gave up on headless guitars.

    6 and 7 string, trem and non-trem.

I absolute cannot understand why so many companies that use a superstrat shape for a headless design end up with a body that looks like a scrotum.

    Don't they realize this?

The body on that 8 string looks gross, it appears they just widened the center part to accommodate the extra strings instead of changing the design in other ways. It just looks way too wide.

I agree with everyone on the shape of headless guitars though, I hate how most just take a superstrat shape, cut the headstock of, and cut behind the bridge off. It just looks bad and unnatural. Instead they should make a new design suited specifically for headless. You don't really need all the extra body weight to counter neck dive anyways with a headless.

Body style doesn't do it for me. It looks too fat -- like it's bulging in the curved places. :)
