Damn, that kinda shocked me. I knew he had some kind of disease but didn't know anything about it. RIP.

My jaw dropped, I couldn’t believe it!! He’s what made me get a drum kit in high school even though Im a guitar player. I learned drums because of him. Damn…. Rest In Peace

I’m glad I got to see him live with slipknot

Man. The first 3 Slipknot albums were huge to me. I never did get to see him play live with them in person and I always thought maybe someday he'd come back and they'd do a tour again. I always looked up to him even though I know nothing about drums. I think I wore out my old disasterpieces DVD back in the day and seeing his drumming on it was certainly always super entertaining. 46 is way too young as well.

    Rest easy, Joey.

Just saw this myself. Sad to hear. Slipknot wih Joey was amazing. Scar the martyr was really good as well. I believe he also drummed in the band sinsaenum which is also quite good. RIP

I really kind of wanted to see him return back to Slipknot someday tbh. Sad to hear this. Rest in peace.

Wow, that's wild. At 46, Jesus. I'm guessing complications from his illness? Heart attack maybe? They said peacefully in his sleep...
Crazy. Way too young to lose such an icon.

Reading up about his spinal disease, it sounds like a horrible thing to be afflicted with. The family haven’t said what the cause of death was but from what I’ve read it can be serious enough to cause death.

I remember hearing about the disease he had, but it sounded like he had it under control. From what I can tell from his last release (the Sinsaeneum album) he was at top form. Something must have hit him hard since then. :(

Such a bummer to hear. I also wore out my Disasterpiece cd in awe of his playing. One of a kind.

I never was much into Slipknot, but damn, I'm almost his age... shit... is the cause of death known already?

Man, way too young. Honestly really upsetting. I wasn't into music at all as a kid until I was like 12 and heard the first 30 seconds of (sic)

I started playing bass at 15 years old. First song I learned was “Dead In Hollywood”.

was a huge Slipknot fan as well at the time. I’m bummed that Cory and Joey never reconciled and bummed that this young man died.

Also, I had long hair at that age and I had a red streak down each side like Joey did at the time.

I was never the biggest Slipknot fans and only really liked most of their hits, but Joey was one of the guys who made drumming look cool and was one of many people that inspired me to pick up the drums.

    Rest In Peace Joey.
