Hi all, I'm a new member but I've been interested in registering for a while, pleased to make your acquaintances :shred:

Just threw together this new song in a couple nights with the other guitarist of my band who's also just become a member here, we used his LTD EC1000 tuned down to G#F#BEG#C#, which if I'm being honest could have done with some new strings.

The drums are a modified Sturgis preset on SD2. Bass was DI through a Boss bass OD and a Sansamp bass driver.

Not a finished mix by any means, main problem I have is the snare is just not sitting well and definitely needs some turning down and taming with some more careful EQ? All comments and critiques are welcome, I am after all a student.

Oh and the master channel just has some limiting etc nothing extravagant.

Hope the link works, it's been a while since I've been on a forum

Ok I like the composition here's some critiques

Bass drum: Not really there, don't really like the sound of it too much nor is it punching me or doing anything.

Snare: I actually like this the most.

OH: A bit wishy, and at times I kinda don't feel they are crisp or have enough high end on them.

Toms: I like them as they are.

Bass: Could come up. I think you need to experiment a bit more with the kick and bass and get them to work in tandem. They are the bulk of the track.

Guitars: I think they are pretty nice to be honest!

hey man thanks for the feedback, I spent some more time on it today, stuck a transient designer on the kick so hopefully it should pop a bit more, turned the bass and guitars up a bit, turned the snare down and put a tiny amount of room reverb on the master to try and glue it all together a bit

here's the updated, if anyone has any thoughts?
