I had heard that the quality on these was poor... anybody care to comment? I did a search and found very little on them.

I'm more interested in the Kelly 7 that's on Ebay at the moment.

I wish they would release a KV7 here.

I would strongly recommend no one touch these late 90s/early 00s import Jackson 7-strings. This includes the RR7, KE7, DR7 and DX7. These are some of the poorest quality 7-strings I've ever played and I've played 40+ models over the years. The fretwork is just awful, and its tinny and thin, with a mediocre neck.

If you want a Jackson, check out the newer ones made such as the DK7.

Why? If you want one, just import it. Ikebe-gakki does international sales, among others. But yeah the KV7 is awesome.

I recently got a chance to play a KE7 for a couple of minutes. It was actually pretty decent, but that's partially because it's owned by one of the better local guitar techs, who did a LOT of work to it--Schaller tuners, new custom-made nut, Evo pickups, 1k volume pot, etc. I didn't get to plug it in, but the owner said that those crazy electronics he installed give it a lot of edge and presence. The guitar was noticeably tighter and bigger acoustically than my old DR7, but that might have something to do with better tuners and a graphite nut.

www.xe.net isn't exactly precise. For 510 US dollars to aus dollars there was a $50 error. I imagine this would only compound as the values got larger. Use it for decent estimate but don't base too much off of it.

Anyway, if someone wants RR7 or KV7, he (or she) can buy it...

Yeah, I sorta forgot about it after that. I hear custom shop guitars cause memory loss. ;)

lol that's too funny... I used xe too... hmmm did you use the lower of the two prices? The higher price includes a tax that is only charged inside of Japan but not on international orders. Not that any of this actually matters ;)

I'm not sure, that Jackson is SWEET. Then again I'm currently waiting to see what the 2006 J-Custom 7s look like ;)

It would be sweeter if it had 24 frets, but that's just me I guess. Right now I'm really wanting the Fernandes/Burny Hide yellow heart Mockingbird...so that's my priority...

you won't hear me complaining about my ke-7. Installed an EMG 707 @ the bridge and it's one of the better players I've owned over the years, including some Ibanez Jem's...
