So I bought some duncans to replace the dimarzio bridge and mid on my Jackson PC1. I cracked open the guitar to find that it has a full circuit board in it and the dimarzio pickups are connect to it via quick-connect instead of solder. My new duncans just have the standard wires you'd need to solder. Is there a way to attach quick connectors to these duncans so i can plug them into this board?

Yeah, just splice them in. Like to like.

Before you start questioning "the tone" it's the same metal on metal contact that the quick connects use.

Checked this out today. Plays great and outside of a couple finish chips pretty much a case queen. One of the weirder soloists I've seen, with it being a 3 single coil (EMG) set-up and with a blue logo. Binding nibs are intact and the frets are in great shape.

Wow I'm really surprised to hear they are using an actual PCB board for this. You should be able to solder it where it would otherwise quick connect. Have a picture or at least model number of the board inside?

PC1s have a sustainer.

Absolutely, I saw it and their TA lil' Angel on the website and decided I had to make a guitar field trip happen. Thanks to Boston traffic it took me an hour and 15 mins to go the < 20 miles to get there.

Totally worth it.

The price is high, but not outlandish for this considering the rarity and the fact that it's in fantastic shape.

They may not be. I don't think I've ever seen one there. I've only lived in the area for the past 3 years though.

Anyone know if the latest USA soloist select builds all use MoP Jackson logos?

Hard to tell in a lot of listing photos. Were I to shell out the coin to buy one, for some reason I feel like a drab white painted logo just isn’t quite good enough. Fully aware that’s a superficial perspective to have, but I’m considering paying $4500 for a basic super strat so maybe I’m entitled to be a little shallow. 😉

I've only ever owned one Jackson in all my life. It was some kind of Randy Roads bolt on with dots on a rosewood fretboard. Plain black with chrome hardware and a tunamatic. HH Jackson logo black plastic pickups and the jack on the lower wing instead of a deep dish under the upper wing. It was made in India. I got it in like 04-05. It wasn't that great.

I had a friend who had a Performer PS1 HSS with a pickguard and a Schaller Floyd. That one played really great when we set up the trem properly.

I haven't really thought about Jackson much since those days. Lately I've been looking at some online and people are saying the lower end Jacksons are a lot more kick ass than they used to be. Compound radius fretboards with carbon fibre reinforcement in a guitar that costs $500USD hard currency.

I've got my eyes on an x series.

Yes, USA Selects have the MOP logo. The American Series SL3s do not though.

Honestly, with prices what they are now, I don't think I'd buy a new USA Select. Either used, the MJ series, or American Series is where I'd go. Used SL2Hs and SL1s can be had for $2500 or less and the new USA Selects are over $4k in only black or white.

The X series stuff can be perfectly serviceable. They tried making them in India twice. Once in the early 2000s, and again in the 2010s. Both times they basically gave up and moved them other countries. They're either from Indonesia or China now depending on model.

The main issues I've seen is inconsistent fretwork and some ugly fretboard wood. If you find one you like the look of, either buy it new and have Sweetwater Plek it, or just budget for a fret level and crown if it's used. It may not need it but that way you'll be prepared in case it does.

The MOP Jackson logo is cool and all. But I always seem to see the laminate shrinking on those MOP logos from other recent builds. I'm sure it is not prevalent but that MOP logo is so thin and it might mess up the finish when not properly done and cured.

Maybe confusing with Matt's Guitars (Manassas)? Not the biggest, but certainly more PRS oriented. Brian's/Ish are some of the top high spec dealers in the northeast, then the usual online suspects like Eddie's etc.

Definitely not confusing with the VA one. I remember a new england based dealer named Matt's that had a lot of PRS deals about 15 years ago.

Silver swirl. J/C does swirls like that in many colors. They're just not common finishes, and with custom shop wait time being what it is these days you see few of them around.
