Did anyone see this performance with Chris Stapleton?

They did "Tennessee Whiskey" by David Allan Coe, but the show stopper was
"Drink You Away" by J.T.

Agreed. Never paid much attention to him until he started doing SNL.

He's got my respects already, then he drops something like this.
Now what do I do? Build a shrine?

I just became a Chris Stapleton fan (was already a big JT fan ). Had no clue who he was until this. This is done really, really well...if you like blues/soul music.

Dude has a killer voice with a surprising range.

Yeah, he seems to have a hard time failing... I looked him up when I found out Greg Howe was his touring guitarist back in the day. He's definitely matured since his boy band days.

I will say, aside from the alcohol references, that sounded a lot more like soul music, or maybe southern rock, than country. Then again today's country is a lot more rock based than it used to be.

I've been listening to Chris Stapleton for a while now and must say, he is one of the best song writers around. There's a reason he writes for some of the biggest country artist in the business. Not to mention, he's just as good live as he is on the studio.

I haven't heard anything yet that I dislike of Chis Stapleton's. Even his bluegrass and more traditional country styled music is killer, and I really dislike both of those genres most of the time.

Timberlake has essentially become a modern day Sinatra. I think his stuff on SNL had a lot to do with it.

this was the highlight of sitting though the CMAs with my wife. I was happy to see Stapleton taking home awards over that BS that you hear on the radio all the time!
