I was lookin around at the various 7 strings on the market, and the APEX1 looks awesome! Any ever tried one of these guitars? How similar are they to the K-7?

It feels like there is 1million threads on the subject Apex vs K-7. Search this forum, Google, and Jemsite.com.

apex 1 has the same specs. though the trem is a slight redesign. if you have to have an apex, get it! but if you want one for the specs, definitely consider a k7 as it would be used and a lot cheaper.

I've played the K7 and I liked it a lot. Really nice neck profile and the PAFs sounded really good, I found they were quite smooth for leads but with 'chunk' on the low end. Not sure what the Apex 1 quality is like, but it looks way cooler than the K7 IMO

seems like all the Apex 1 owners are coming out of the woodwork! something told me back in 05-06 that the K7 would probably be replaced with something different once Head left Korn. I always saw Munky playing live with what would be the Apex 1 and figured that must be it and sure enough...

Its basically a 1527 with a mahogany body and killer looks. I like mine but I have been summoned by the 27" gods and can no longer play these puny standard scale axes anymore. Hit me up with a serious offer someday and I may consider selling my mint Apex1. I rarely play it but as far as Ibanez, like I said. 1527 but with a Mahogany body, better pickups of course and killer inlays.
