Looking for a budget 5 string and came across these two.
The Ibanez appears to be a 90s bass. Mixed reviews.
The Squire is 80s made in Korea. Decent reviews.

Anyone have any experience or opinions on these two?

What kind of prices are they?

I have not played either one but I'd consider some modern basses. You can get a lot for not a lot of money these days depending where you're located.

For example, you can get these used for $300 USD or less if you find a good deal and they are super solid. I gigged with one quite a bit with a cover band doing 3-4 hour gigs. The o ly issue I had was a strap button coming out because I rocking it pretty hard lol

About $150. I don't really play bass much, just need some low end on my recordings. Being that I play dirty death metal, I don't really need anything too pretty. That and $150 is easier to hide from my wife 🤣

I've seen some 305s around the price range you mentioned. Good to know they're decent if I ever decide to upgrade.

Well...I went ahead and picked up the Squire. Really not too bad. Granted, I have not had the privilege of playing any high end basses but for the price, it will do nicely. Neck is pretty fast for a 5er. I'll need to do a setup to flatten it out a bit but it's in pretty good condition for it's age. Will post some pics eventually.

Now to find a bass head to complete my ultra budget metal bass setup 😜
