So, I was browsing Ikebe Gakki's site and I stumbled across a couple Prestige RG models that I had not yet encountered. Google was practically clueless about either of them, so I figured knowledge of them wasn't widely known. As such, I figured I might as well make the SSO collective aware of their existence, because they're actually pretty nice. Enjoy!

Oh come on Ibanez! Why do you keep locking these amazing models from the rest of the world?? Japan gets these elegant looking RGs while the rest get your hideous neon colors.

Oh don't get me wrong, its definitely not just RGs. The S line is getting some love, hell even the RGA got a prestige released in JP.

Meh, I’m sure they’re great but nothing too special. I like the second one best but who needs another black guitar. Plus no trem so pass. Just my opinion.

    Thanks for sharing though.

Coolness? JDM pride? Cut marketing costs?Lol who knows

...or is it RoHS and CITES crap that they scoff at from inside their own borders, but follow for export models???

That is definitely a thing overall, and it wouldn't surprise me if it were true here.

I doubt these guitars aren't RoHS compliant. RoHS compliance requires that not only the final product meet the standard, but all the equipment used in the production process does so as well. For them to use a fully compliant assembly line for exports only to use an entirely separate, non-compliant assembly line for their JDM products seems unlikely simply because it wouldn't be economic.

    :agreed:

The CE sticker and woods listed make these both completely compliant and available for export.

Something I just realized that I hadn't even noticed on the RG4627...

    ...no fret markers.

The only good thing is the black one has a reverse headstock which are awesome.

If these had trems I'd have someone in Japan ship it to me lol every guitarist needs a friend/relative in Japan for this reason.

To think I had to go the custom route years ago to get a fixed bridge, 25.5, mahogany, passive, 7 with a thin satin neck. I'd have been all over this. Could do with a flame or quilt maple veneer though.

The 3000 series are pretty dope. I reckon the rest of the world will get them for 2020 Winter NAMM or just before.

Don't have direct access to them, can import from Japan easily enough (Japan to Aus is pretty easy).

The feeling from the Australian Ibanez distribution network is that we'll have these next year (at least the 6s in the 3000 range, the 7s can be a little of an unknown however there's usually a few dealers who insist on getting the 7s in. For example we managed to get 3 RGR752AHBF's into the country).
