    Hello there

Today I'm presenting you my beloved Ibanez Iceman Giger. I've been wanting to do this for a while because there aren't many of these around but I didn't have the right photos/videos, until now.

The guitar has a mahogany body, maple neck, rosewood fretboard, 24'75 scale, 22 frets, T-O-M style bridge and a Dimarzio X2N in the bridge (stock Ibanez AH2 in the neck) I love this guitar, it has been my first serious guitar and it's been with me since 2008 as my main guitar for recording and playing live, so it's very special to me.

I made some photos yesterday and recorded a playthrough video playing one of the songs of my band Nexus. All the guitars on the song where recorded with the Iceman.

    Enjoy!

    :)

This guitar pleases me more than Prometheus did.
I may have to pick one of these up

    Thanks guys.

I'll love to see more Giger stuff from Ibanez for sure. I've though a couple of times about getting one of the RG models that came out back in the day, but they are hard to find. Oh wait, I just found a couple on ebay, maybe I should......

By the way, Prometheus hasn't been released on my country yet (Spain) and won't be until August so please no spoilers!! I've been avoiding all the trailers and stuff hoping for a better experience at the cinema. A man can dream :)

I have always wanted one of these! (and Munky's Giger RG7) awesome you got one.

Pretty funny seeing you in your video under a nice, clear sunny day playing a dark, sinister Giger Iceman :D

    Fair enough! Haha

To be honest, I've never been into Celtic Frost. An old member of my band liked them a lot, he was always playing their older stuff but it never did it for me.

Maybe we can fix it with a little of Sybreed? :)

Forgot I had this video recorded too!

Don't listen to anyone that says anything bad about it. They don't know what they're talking about.

Awsome. I have the HRG RGT1 (the one that was in the ads with the Iceman), but the iceman is much cooler looking IMO.
Looks like that fretboard could use some oil though, and it'll darken it up which makes it look even better.

    Giger for the artist?

MAN! I was doing a sketch of one of his paintings in coal just a few minutes ago

I even though it looked like something that Giger would Paint, but I thought it had something to do with a gig

Didn't know that Munky's has a custom 7 Giger! It seems that it like the first 6 string RG that came out. Same painting and probably similar specs. 7 strings Giger would be a dream, but since it's almost the same I guess I'll prefer to grab the 6 string version.

Yeah, it was actually very funny to do the video that way. Even when I finished the father of the children at 1:58 came to me an said "hey, you must be a master on guitar hero don't you?"

The truth is, that I played Guitar Hero once and was a total disaster

As Michael T has said, HR Giger is a great SciFi artist, very influential and with an unique style, mixing futurism, cybernetics, sexuality and some other wicked stuff. He became famous for his work on the designs of the film ALIEN, including the creature itself.
