    Did anyone else see this?
It looks like this is the first guitar from a new Ibanez sub-line. RGCTM1
Looks quite nice and simple with good specs, but very expensive.

Yeap, Lorcan and some folks here already discussed about this in the NAMM thread.

Original listing is actually by Ikebe-Gakki: http://www.ikebe-gakki.com/ec/pro/disp/1/501840

To add on to what has already found, Google translate says that there are only 6 of these produced, and that they were each handled by only one luthier throughout the entire production process.

Pretty cool, but not exactly $4000 USD cool.

Can only hope that these specs eventually trickle down to Prestige level.

Thanks for the clarification and additional info. It will be interesting to see what else they put out, and as you said, if the features work their way into other lines.

The U shaped neck is a bit of an odd one.

The deeper forearm contour is a bit unnecessary since the regular one is already deeper than most brands, I'd love to try out the new features though and see how they compare.

Ibanez J-customs have rocketed in price recently so that explains the 4k price. The BKPs make up a large chunk too. Hopefully we see more models in the future.

U-shaped 19.5mm neck? If that goes to the std Prestige line, well...

It's where the Japanese artist guitars come out of and where prepro samples are built before Fujigen takes a stab at it. Think of it as Japanese LACS.

Wonder if the prototypes that the dude from Polyphia and Erick from CHON have been playing are from the same shop. Anyway, this guitar is sick, but I have a thing for white.

I must be an idiot/fanboy, because this plain Jane, shiny new high end Ibanez has me excited. I wonder how they feel compared to the J-Customs.

A seven string version would be wonderful.

I do not remember the bold/italicized/underlined part being on the Ibanez website. Granted, I do not search through the depths of the Ibanez website often, but I feel like I would have remembered Ibanez comparing artist guitars to "concept cars" and calling the LACS their "Research and Design Facility" if it had been written there before. It's not a big deal. It's just odd.

Can I have a guitar custom made for me? Can I order a guitar in a color that doesn't appear on the website/catalog. Can I order a bass with active vs. passive pickup?
Because of the increasing demand for Ibanez guitars overall, Ibanez does not build custom guitars at this time (we have at different periods in the past). The only guitars and finishes available are those in the current catalogue or on the website . An exception are the limited production models such as anniversary guitars offered by different Ibanez retailers that feature non-standard combinations of hardware, finishes, etc.
Most non-standard guitars played by our artists are prototypes made by our Research and Design facility in Los Angeles. These prototype guitars can be compared to "concept cars"--they allow Ibanez to figure our what features should be (and shouldn’t be) offered in our regular models.

    Beautiful guitar.

Dead stupid name for an area building them. Makes it sound like an amateur school building them.

Love the features on it and thankfully they didn't drop and Edge Zero in it.
