Exhibit A: notice how the bass side horn meets the neck in a smooth arc

Exhibit B: notice how the bass side horn meets the neck with a lump and turn in

Aren't your photos of tilt-joint vs. AANJ, not neck-thru vs AANJ?

That "smooth arc" ends further down the neck (17th fret instead of 18th). I fell in love with RGs for their playability, not their aesthetics (I like that too, but not particularly more than all other guitars with inferior playability).

The RG is the most aesthetic guitar to me, but maybe the most useless neck now that I've tried a few other guitars.

The question was how does the AANJ change the shape of the RG. The original RG shape is that with the tilt joint, which the RGT is much closer to than an AANJ RG.

I don't find a significant difference in playability between the AANJ and tilt joint, so the shape is more important to me.

Everything is always just one spec away from purchase according to the internet.

I'm just as guilty. It is what it is.
I'd say that in reality, it's often one and a half spec away.
I mean: "meh, this has x bridge, not my fave but I can cope with it (main problem) but it also has the same set of pickups that I have on other 2 guitars (secondary problem)"

I have loads of guitars that are 1 spec away, but then they must be unique and not some replica feature of gear I already have, especially with nowadays prices, for many pockets a "double" is not justified.

Such a small difference, yet one looks good, and the other doesn’t. Sign me up for the tilt every time.

It still looks fine with the AANJ, even if the tilt-joint looks slightly nicer. I can't really go to another mass manufacturer that would make it look like the tilt-joint from the front because then they'd give me an ugly AF overtly pointy headstock in return or gross pickup rings
