Well, we already got that guitar two times before. :p I would love to see one with a fixed bridge though. Or an inverted version? Pink with blue f-holes.

I love the yellow one! Only 22 frets... And a set neck. Paul is always up to try something different. I guess the MIJ one is going to be crazy expensive.

This is what we need. This loud ass red/blue combo

2 new PGM models. These shouldn't come as a surprise when Paul Gilbert himself has been playing both pretty often on the socials.

Both looking pretty classy.

Love both of these since Paul's been playing them on IG. I'll never afford the yellow, and really really like the black one but the medium frets piss me off  I'd still get it, but I feel like it will be like $2000 (Canada).

Also really cool that the Premium uses Basswood for the body and Rosewood for the board.

I literally cannot wrap my head around how anyone could think "Hey lets paint F holes on a solid body guitar" and then anyone else be like "yeah great idea!"... and that then there are people who think "This looks good." ... absolutely mind boggling. I'm not knocking PG as an artist (though I admit that I'm not very familiar with his music).

I can actually accept the dude himself continuing to play guitars with painted F holes as a kind of gimmick, like it's tongue-in-cheek. But other people wanting to buy them? Insane.

It goes to show that it's not really about the design, but who sells it.

Paul is just such a whacky, lovable guy, who happens to be an absolutely incredible, inventive guitarist who can write across a wide spectrum and still be technical, catchy, and fun. If you haven't checked him out, pull up some live stuff that's relatively recent. His clinics are great too.

So he could show up with anything and it'll have appeal...which he sort of has when you look through all the goofy PGM models over the years.

Just a few of the nearly 40 sig models he's had:

Agreed on both counts for Gilbert. I've never been a fan of the painted-on-f-holes look, and if I were going to get a Gilbert sig, it would most def be the Fireman. That thing is crazy cool, and very inline with PGMs personality.

I mean...that goes for a swhirl paint job and for any kind of finish and hardware combination.
I mean, for me the PGM 100 has a nostalgia factor, not only for the player, but for the whole period, which I'm very lucky and proud to have lived.
The PGM 100 is something that everytime I see it, puts me in a good joyous mood, which goes beyond playing a piece of gear, and beyond the money.

I second this. The painted F holes look tacky.

Also, he really likes picking ugly colors for his guitars. Still, at least it’s not Steve Vai levels of garish. It took him 6-7 years to release a JEM that didn’t hurt your eyes. Thank god he and Ibanez made the white JEM7V…and even then, he picked a boring white paint. No sparkle to it, unlike my RG2550Z which is white and metallic.

In any case, a guitar with painted F holes is better than Ibanez’ biker black finish (which somehow managed to be used on a JEM and a J Custom…). That cracked black finish is a finish so ugly and gross that I think it should be illegal to be shown in public. The children of the world shouldn’t have to see something so sinful and showing it to them should be considered a form of abuse. It looks like someone tried to paint the guitar matte black and failed…badly. I cannot fathom what kind of a sick freak at Hoshino looked at the biker black finish and thought they should put it on a mass production guitar.

Sorry, I have a lot of thoughts regarding Ibanez’ finish choices…

I own Galaxy Black and Galaxy White RG2550Zs. Personally I don't think the gold sparkle of the Galaxy White goes too well with the hardware / pickguard colours, so plain white would look better. The silver sparkle of the Galaxy Black finish blends in much better with the cosmo hardware.

Those are some strong fucking feelings on paint. Then again, I love the color on my yellow Pia. Shit's gaudy as balls, and I love it. I also love the color on my AZ TFF, so what the hell do I know. I also think the white JEM7V is one of the most beautiful guitars ever.

come on guys, everybody knows that the correct hierarchy is

1-. sparkle guitars
2-. stained maple tops (flamed, quilted, w/e)
3-. Fender bathroom style colors
4-. chamaleon paint guitars
5-. multifoil
6-. swirl
7.- matte paint
8-. graphics guitars
9-. spalted maple

10. low budget burled stained tops

I can get behind that. I'm not the biggest Vai fan but I generally think bright ass guitars when it comes to him.
