Hello everyone. I'm GBT, and I occasionally put my foot in my mouth on the Project Guitar, Jemsite, and the ibanez.com forums. I've been playing guitar for 19 years now, though only seriously for the last 4 years. I actually quit 6 years ago after being laid off and having to sell off everything but my acoustic, but in the last four years I've picked up 13 guitars and really concentrated on becoming a better player. Even my wife acknowledges that I'm about 500% better than I used to be, which is saying a lot coming from her. I don't own a 7 string yet, but I plan on fixing that shortly. I'm either going to make one myself, or pick up an Ibanez Prestige RG1527. Either way, I've got my pickups already picked out and in-hand: EMG 81-7 and 60-7, though I'd hate to have to route a guitar that's already finished. Thanks. I heard this was one of the best guitar forums on the net, and after reading around, it's reputation seems well deserved.
Thanks everyone. playstopause & shawn: yeah, I love my Ibanez guitars, especially the older ones. I've got a line on a 7 string. If it works out, you'll be seeing it very soon. Hell yeah! Oh, and I forgot one of the best pieces in my collection... 1998 Ibanez SCN500:
