The top 3 cities for me are Baltimore, Washington DC and Newark/Paterson.

Makes sense, I'm from Baltimore! :D

It said I talk like people from Irving, Texas, Houston, and Aurora, Illinois. I'm from South Dakota originally, I wonder how my accent has changed over the years.

Top 3 - Madison, WI, Rockford, and Aurora, IL.

I'm pretty impressed, as I live in Madison, and grew up 40 miles from Aurora. I didn't know it would be that exact. Almost creepy.

Having been in the military I've heard all these dialects we have in the US, this test is pretty spot on.

Detroit, Grand Rapids (Michigan), Rochester (New York). Interestingly, my family is all from Rochester and Grand Rapids. So that is kind of cool. I always thought I talked like a southerner and a Canadian, but, Rochester and Grand Rapids works.

Tacoma, San Jose and Honolulu... I have never stepped foot in any of those places (or been within a thousand miles of them for that matter) and all of my relatives are from the northeast.

Very similar but mine was way more white/blue.

Most like New York, Yonkers (lol!) and Jersey City. All about the same area.

Least like Pittsburg, Amarillo and Lubbock.

Had not heard many of the terms/words or names before.

P.S. the little grey bug which rolls into a ball when you touch it is called a "Slater" down here. :agreed:

I was born in AZ but have lived 17 out of my 20 years of life in Las Vegas so I guess this makes some sense.

I got Spokane, Boise, and Minny/St.Paul. Born in Vancouver, BC, lived in New Mexico and Chile before moving back 23 years ago. My non-regional diction is pretty decent, but I still say "y'all" when addressing a group.

Most: Lincoln, NE; Omaha, NE; Fort Wayne, IN.
Least: Jersey City, NJ; Philadelphia, PA; Washington, DC.

Hm. I suppose it pegged the Midwestern accent I have, but I'm from IL, and have never spent any significant time at all in NE or IN. I've actually lived in the DC area for far longer than I ever spent in either of those states. I think the survey we had in a different thread a couple months back was more accurate.

Louisville, Lexington (Kentucky), and Columbus (Georgia) were the cities that my dialect is most similar to. That test was very accurate. I only live about thirty minutes from Louisville.

I can't believe that "cabbage night" was a choice for the night before Halloween!
I thought that was just a North Jersey thing.
The test put me right where I belong, New Jersey. :hbang:

I got Worcester-Boston-Providence. It shows that I don't get around much, it would seem.
