So this was somewhat of an impulse buy but I've been trying to track one of these things down for literally 8 years now. I was planning on buying a Jim Root Strat once I got my tax return however I was broswing Ebay a few weeks ago and saw this sitting at $800 with free shipping with less than an hour to go! I immediately put in a bid at 800 and I won :eek:

I finally got to get my hands on it today as it's finally my spring break and it's everything I hoped it would be. It almost looks unplayed and it's effortless to play. I need to set up the trem which I'm probably just gonna hardtail and it needs some lemon oil like no other but other than that I could not be any happier. I love this thing already and I'm still shocked I managed to get it. Thanks for reading! :shred:

Very nice, happy NGD! I tracked one of them in a local pawn shop last year, and it sold for 1000$ and was beat to hell and back. Ibanez need to bring back RGT prestige models, those were the best in their lineup in my opinion.

Edit : there are two other RGT220 on ebay at the moment, one starting at 700$ and the other at 500$ . Just purchased a new 6er that I love so I am out :( .

    Thanks!

Today has also reassured my belief that floating tremolos were designed by Lucifer himself to torment me at every step of my life, I'm utilizing the wooden block/L-bracket combo blocking method to make sure that it can never move in either direction ever again once I pick up some new strings.

I mean trem tricks are fun and all but tuning stability and the ability to switch tunings is better to me.

Congrats and happy NGD! $800 is an absolute steal for how much guitar you're getting there. Prestige RGTs are among the best Ibbys out there... I have two myself:

Simon that pink one is insane, that's the one Ibanez color I will probably never be able to find (been looking for an S prestige in it forever) but yeah this thing is a beast of a guitar! Thanks!

Thanks to everyone else too! I got the trem 100% hardtailed yesterday and in the process 3 of the probably 10 year old strings on it broke on me so I gotta go get some new ones and set this thing up in drop C. I'm honestly convinced this guitar was never played from 2005 until now, plastic covers are still on everything and when I went to open the trem cavity nothing looked like it had ever been touched before, not to mention how shiny all the metal parts still are and how there is no visible playwear anywhere on it

Great score. Those are highly sought after and
with good reason. Right at the top end of the Prestige
series for me. LOVE your collection as well. :metal:

One day I will have an RGT220, one day. One day I will own one. Those corroded instrumental covers look ridiculously good with the ash, and they sound ridiculous too.

Finally got it set up and got to play it through my 5150ii today and wow it's amazing. It's just about as good as it gets honestly. Even these dimarzio-ibz pickups sound good and my experience with ibby stock pickups has been less than stellar. Plays like butter in drop C and the action is almost too low at this point

The ONLY thing I might change is the bridge pickup as the neck pickup is pretty good already. I also might just completely remove the locking nut and put the perle conversion nut I have on but for now it's fine just without the top locks.

    Thanks so much everyone!
