Gotta say, I'm sad that BTBAM didn't get it... but then, sludge/doom/stoner stuff just isn't my thing, I'm more of a proggy technical guy.

Why is it weird that HOF won a grammy? I do not recall their songs even being "underground" sounding or excessively "experimental" despite their genre.

I was expecting Trivium or Underoath to win since they have more name recognition.

Good point, I did not know that they were also nominated. Maybe the Grammy committee wanted to attract new people to their awards.

Just saw a video clip on Instagram of the announcement at the Grammy's. Not one single person in that half-empty theater clapped or anything when High On Fire was announced as the winner.

I think they got 1% of the fan polls on the site during the ceremony. The new BTBAM was great, the new HOF was excessively MEH.
