I just recently got into Church of Misery and have been putting their album "Thy Kingdom Scum" on repeat at work.
I've been pretty in love with the riff played at 5:30 and when it really kicks in at 6:00

I've also been listening to Clutch's newest album "Earth Rocker", and I really love how ....ing gigantic and bluesy the whole thing is.

I guess what I'm looking for is a heavier version of Clutch I guess?
A focus on big riffs, being bluesy as all hell, more than likely pretty sludgy, and just writing songs that you can't help but headbang to.

(Harmonica parts/solos are bonus points with the bluesiness by the way )

The first thing I thought when I saw the thread title was Church of Misery.

    Here's some more for ya:

That's just a couple. I'm just going to assume you already listen to Sleep and Electric Wizard, so I didn't post either of them.

IIf you've only listened to earth rocker then I'd recommend their other albums because I think earth rocker is probably their weakest album. Also you should check out tumbleweed dealer and the atomic bitchwax.

I was gonna suggest The Sword also...got beat to it. Gods of the earth is a great album. Yeah it's funny how someone said Zeppelin too. They pretty much defined heavy blues.

    Good thread.

I'm kinda thinking about starting a band with heavy bluesy riffs a-la Black Sabbath when I get my new 8 string. I want to make some real low doom stuff, should be good hehe

Not so much heavier, but it's worth checking out.

    Also this.

And given the thread title, I was going to say Clutch, but it seems we're on the same page. And in a way, somewhat related -
