I bought my very first 8 string FanFret and reviewed it. Some pretty scary QC issues, but my expectations were really low considered it's a 180$ guitar.
What do you think?

Bought mine about a year ago. Mine came pretty much in perfect condition & almost completely setup. I just had to re-intonate 1 string. Still shocked about how nice it feels & plays, it stays in tune well but then it's the only 8 string I've ever played so i have nothing to compare but i adore it. One of my fave guitars & I put DiMarzio D' activators in it.

Thank you! Mine had some hilariously bad issues, the nut above all... They put a standard nut on a FanFret neck, so I had to re-file each slot because the strings passed through diagonally, you see it in the QC issue chapter marker of the video.
Now I put a set of EMG 808 in it and it sounds better

I bought one like two years ago when they still cost €138. Nut was a bit poorly cut, especially the 7th and 8th string slots. Pickups lacked power and clarity. Neck profile was great - not too thin or thick, very subtle shoulders if I can put it this way. Fret edges were fine. Upper fret access was good. It did look cheap overall though, like noticeably cheaper than the Epi SG 400 I also had at the time, plus I couldn't get enough up bow with the truss rod maxed out so I ended up returning it. Some have had better luck than me though.

Happened to me, also, the truss-rod works, but it really needs to be "cranked" to make small adjustments. I'm keeping it at the moment, but I don't think I'll own this guitar for long
