Good afternoon djentelmen:fawk:, today Ive been working on some mockups for my next build, I was able to get a hold of a picture of the actual top i was using, (walnut), im planning on using a zebrawood fretboard, GFS VEH pickup, and i was set on using an Ibanez Licensed FR Ive had for like almost a year, until i put a hardtail into the picture.
You guys help me decide ,FR or hardtail?

Depends which one you want

I imagine it would be easier to use a fixed bridge since you wouldn't have to rout out a trem cavity or anything like that.

Well, I just have one question for you......Do you want a trem, or do you want a hard tail?

Seriously, why ask for input from other people on something that is solely based on personal preference? If you do dive bombs and rarely change tunings, go for the FR. If you don't get a hard tail?

sorry to re start an old thread, but that top wasnt ever used. so im planning a mayones style build with it. This time i need help only with the aesthetics. This is inspired by Mishas Mayones.
    For sure Specs:
    Zebrawood Neck
    Walnut top
    Lace alumitone deathbar 3.5
    Hipshot hardtail
    Hipshot tuners
    Not sure about Specs:
    Maple or bloodwood fretboard
    Gold/silver hardware
    Gold/Silver frets
    Help me decide.
    some mockups.

My personal opinion would also be silver frets and hardware with maple.

    What about a Kahler?
Can lock and use as hardtail or unlock it and use it as a trem

A Kahler Hybrid would only set you back $160 or so. Or $20 less for a blemished unit, which usually have very minor cosmetic flaws that are barely visible.

For the price, you really are getting both a trem and a hardtail. No trem system is as versatile as a Kahler cam-operated one, IMO.

Head on to Wammi World and check it out for yourself.

But that would run me 2 or 3 times the price of a hipshot hardtail
    on ebay
