I recently noticed that my Schecter Damien 6 has started to sound like, well, shit. :realmad: I never had any problems with it before, i didn't hate the pickups but they weren't all too good. In the last couple of weeks the tone has begun to sound like the tone knob is off...which it is on. This is my guitar for Drop A, i have many songs in this tuning and i need it to function. Any ideas to what it could be? I haven't fucked with the wiring at all.
Thank you for any responses! :)

Active pickups? Changed the battery if so? New strings?

It has passive pickups, and i've changed strings twice. There is no treble to the tone. I want my baby to be better :(

Do either knobs (tone or volume) make the sound better/worse? Tried a new cable (longshot..)?

Could be a bum cable, try a different one. Take any pedals out of your signal chain and go straight to the amp, something could be loading your pups.

I play my Blackjack Atx through the same amp and it sounds fine. Put it this way, beforehand, the damien sounded brighter than the blackjack, now the blackjack is about two times as bright.

I might have to resort to a tech, i live 60 miles away from the nearest guitar shop and it sucks sadly. lol But yes, very sure it is not my amp.
Hmm i never thought of the pickup selector. I bought the guitar about 2 years ago and my switch had gone bad two weeks after. haha I never got it fixed though, everytime i switch it goes dead and then i have to switch back and forth a bazillion times before it works.
Do you think it could be pickup height? My bridge Pu is quieter and less bright than my neck, though if i play a D chord shape high up on the fretboard it doesn't sound shrill and high pitched like it use to. haha

Maybe it wasn't happy and it wanted to have a darker, more br00tal sound?

I fixed it...thank you guys so much for the help, i think i wasted your time. :/
So a long time ago i was messing with the bridge on the guitar (at the time i didn't know about a truss rod so i raised the bridge to get higher action) and i raised it like 2 cm on each side. I've kept like that ever since and just adjusted my pickup til it sounded good. High action doesn't bother me. Anyhow, a few weeks ago a dickhole friend was screwing with my guitar, stringless, and pulled out the bridge. I put it where i thought it was. I was obviously wrong though because i just lowered it about half a turn on each side and viola, problem solved.
Thank you guys! :) Man i feel dummmmmmmmmb.
