Recently I was listening to the last album of The Dillinger Escape Plan and I really love the distortion on that album, sounds great.

I was wondering what amps could give me a similar sound?

I'm poor so don't recommend very expensive amps.

I think Ben Weinmann used pretty much everything. It's going to be REALLY hard to nail that sound.

The cheapest amps I think he used was a 5150 and Laney GH50L. The tone does sound like a Laney could get close.

Doesn't he use a Mesa Mark series live?

    Live, yeah.
In the studio, he uses everything from a JCM, to a Bogner Uber, to the Mesa Mark/Triple, to a 5150, to a Laney.... the list goes on.

Pretty much any of the high gain amps on the market can do that type of sound with a boost + noise gate. I think the PRS Archon is really cool, best cleans I've heard from a high gain amp, a really unique and tight high gain sound, options for EL34's or 6L6's, and they look damn good.

I think the Archon would be a good fit for your needs as well.

many high gain amps sound similar, or can be tailored as such with a few outboard items such as an eq in the loop and/or boosts etc. find a used peavey high gainer for cheap (xxx, 5150 whatever) since you said money is an issue and just dial dial dial. biggest thing i'd say to look for is the options you want (number of channels, midi/non midi, effects loop yadda yadda)

If there are more suggestions out there, tell me. I wanna consider them all.

If on a tight budget bugera or a used peavey xxx could fit the bill
