Wow that's nightmare fuel, I'm always scared to do that because I fear I'll just break the guitar in two..

Yeah I also do this just about every 4 bars, usually doing the drum fill - and I don't limit it to the vol knob, also the tone knob must be at 100%, am I still on the bridge pickup, didn't accidentally went to position 4? is the trem arm screw too loose .. I am honestly amazed I can check all these in just ½ a bar

Using gear, then conclude that it doesn't sound that good, buy more gear, think 'Yes this sounds a ton better' .. then about a year after going back to the initial setup, with pretty much the same settings and conclude that it sounds better than the gear you brought. I am kinda amazed how many times I have done this - recently it was with IR packs.. Used the stock Two Notes stuff, wasn't satisfied, then checked out a bunch of other stuff and used that for like ½ a year, but now I am coming back to the Two Notes IRs and think they sound the best, wtf?

Playing unplugged, need to turn up the volume knob and roll it down again when finished.
Playing unplugged, need to switch to the bridge pickup playing rhythms if the neck was selected
No tremolo, need to make motions as if you're doing a whammy dive
Completely forgot how to play something when recording
Slowly unlearn how to play guitar with every failed take when recording
Forget every riff and lick you've ever learned when trying out a guitar in store at at a show

Nevermind, another forum for six string guitars is just as useless as an eighth string. :D

Totally guilty of constantly checking the volume knob is on 100% lol.

Criticize others for what they dig or use for gear.
Truly believe more money equals a better guitar.
Believe they can tell the difference between a well-dialed in modeler and an amp.
Get into fierce debates over what gear other people have used.
Completely disregard the mixing process that went into a recorded guitar tone.
Completely disregard all care for volume control.

I do that when I'm playing live or at practice. To be fair, I've relied on the volume knob a lot to help with dynamics/gating. I've always been singing in bands and when I've had to focus on singing while playing start/stop stuff, I'll rely on a gate more than my right hand. So when turn up the volume all the way and then knockin' my hand into it, I'll keep checking to make sure it's still up.

This one is odd to me, reverb and especially delay make my mistakes way more noticeable and long lasting.

I have a weird habit of sort of propping myself up on my toes every time I play a pinch harmonic or certain accent bits, as if to physically emphasize the bit, and sometimes my eyebrows go up at the same time. It's like a whole-body version of "making a guitar face" during a cool bit. I do the same thing while playing bass if there's a single slap or pop somewhere as an accent, I'll sort of bob up on my toes as I play it. It looks goofy and I have no idea why I do it.

I can't think of a non-stupid sounding way to phrase it, but it's like if the song goes WHOOP, I also have to physically embody the WHOOP.

Getting rid of your 100 watt head and 4x12 cab in hopes of having a modeler sound the same through headphones or monitors and then complaining when it doesn't.

Be careful not to pull a hamstring with a stretch like that. ;)

Why would I be angry? There are numerous people who don't know good tone and are trying to convince others they didn't make a bad purchase on software and gadgets that will be outdated in no time. "That firmware update sure sweetened my tone, bro." ;)

somehow stabbing my finger with the end of a string when changing strings and drawing blood. lol . While we are at it, changing strings on a Fender strat is the most infuriating thing ever with those old school tuners, what a design fail.
