I didn't find any Mule set I could afford at the moment, but managed to get a great deal on an Abraxas set. I know you are a big fan of the Abraxas and I know you have or had it in a few guitars tuned as low as A1, but I don't know if you ever had good results tuning lower.
I am very excited about getting these pickups because I am confident they will suit my needs perfectly! I think they will help balance out the top end of the guitar, since it is a 30.8" scale that will go as far as Ab4.
But the only thing settled on this guitar is the scale, so if you have any recommendations about the Abraxas, regarding tunings or even pickup positions for the bridge and neck, I would love to hear.
Thinking about a calibrated set for my ESP bolt on M-II with maple fretboard. Alder body, maple neck. Drop C tuning, playing death metal. Currently has a JB/59 set in it, I think it sounds really good, but could sound heavier and I'm always looking for some extra articulation.
Any experience with the 7 String HSP90s or the BKP P90s in general?
I'm thinking about putting a set in my PRS SE 7 string (rosewood board).
I play stuff from alternative metal to post rock.
Thanks a bunch!
I really like the Supermassive and Stockholm pickups! Mississippi Queen is sick also.
Last post of the page buried.
Yep. My post was skipped as well.
Abraxas and Mules both great choices. The Abraxas is a bit warmer and hotter, the Mule a bit more balanced and open.
Which bkps would be best for an rga121 ntf? I go for periphery, Erra, and DT tones for dirty and similar bands for cleans along with intervals, skyharbor, and tsf for leads.
In the RGA121 I would suggest the Painkillers, Emeralds, or Nailbomb/VH2.
Yeah, I was thinking painkiller bridge and vh2 neck. Thanks!
If I order a pu from you, will it ship from the BKP workshop to you and after that to me? Or am I just understanding something wrong
Thats correct, but we pay to have them ship with DHL 2-day service, so we get it lightning fast once the pickup is completed.
Ok thanks, I was just wondering because I live in the eu and Id have to add taxes to that. So it would be around the same price as ordered straight from bkp.
And the dealer in my country doesnt answer so yeah...
Does bareknuckle make 8 string active sized pickups?
Not normally, but I think they can upon request.
I would be interested in your opinion about a good choice for a Chapman ML7T.
Already own a bright guitar with a nailbomb/vhII and really like the move from EMG's I used to prefer.
I'm somewhat interested in Blackhawks.
The only other one I that would fit the character of the guitar should be the Warpig, but my concerns are that this one is maybe a little over the top.
I like the Nailbomb, output wise. Versatility is a plus and growl is also desired.
Blackhawks would work but I think the Warpig set with the ceramic bridge would be the best option for that guitar.
If you don't mind, do you think that the warpig is versatile? I got the impression that it's a very specific one.
Should I maybe look at other manufacturers instead?
Yes its surprisingly versatile. Other manufacturers? Nah. BKPs are the best IMO, and more versatile/dynamic than other high output pickups.
