I hope so, bringing a fuckin $7000 amp on the road seems like a bad idea lol
if you don't have roadies you shouldn't play tube amps ... especially when you're in your 50s. spare your spine the grief

I doubt things have gotten so tight that a band like Meshuggah doesn't have a couple roadies but they're probably getting old now too.. why bother anymore? nobody in the crowd can tell a difference, giant amp stacks aren't part of their stage show. it's just pointless. There's no reason to not replace 180 pounds of gear with 5 ... x 2 guitarists, then sub out the bassist's rig and save another 200 pounds. That's a whole lotta effort you save yourself with no detriment at all

Saw them in Hollywood a couple months back, they had enough roadies to handle a couple of tube amps

The light show and stage displays would’ve been a bigger hassle than the guitar rigs

you're already lifting a couple thousand pounds of stuff, what's another 500 that doesn't need to be there, eh? only gotta move it twice a night on every show on the tour, nbd

:shrug:Just responding to the roadies comment.

I think they were using quad cortexes btw, and it sounded just as good and better than In Flames and Torche, who both used real amps

Inflation really hitting the boutique amp market.
I love the aesthetic of the amp more than anything. The murdered out Marshall look is pure vibes.

Jesus. That horrible, bright, grating tone and he had the presence so low or even on zero for some of that video. It manages to sound sorta thin the whole time as well, with and without the 33. I've never liked that amp.

Casually mention on Facebook that you're getting out of doing amps then release a run of 50 over-hyped amps for a ridiculous price: Brilliant!

Curious if they are still hyping NOS parts in these since they supposedly weren't building anymore due to not being able to get the handful of parts.
Didn't know he was done with amps.
Then again has he done anything lately besides the Cali and on-off Meshugah runs? That he didn't even build, either. Whatever happened to the Evil Pumpkin?

"Currently in pre-production, dealing with supply issues" looks like the website changed from on hold due to COVID to that...

Don’t forget the modded 808 and TS9. 😂

The parts aren't hard to get, unless it's the transformers. But Heyboer, Marstran, and Merren are still making iron and they're easy to get. As for the NOS parts... real mustards are hard to find I guess. But all the other parts in this amp can be ordered today and they'll be on your bench in 3 days.

Imagine paying that much for a fucking modded marshall circuit that's been around for 50 years. Shit you could boost (put random high gain amp here) and probably get something close enough.

Yup. It's a JCM800 with a Jose mod. IMO, it sounds great if you alter the NFB circuit a bit and add a depth control. Otherwise it's just too bright. But I guess that's the sound Meshuggah goes for?

That's how the amp actually sounds. The one I had was insanely bright. To the point of being unusable.

I will gladly build one of these minus the logo and funky pilot light for $4k

Same lol. I'll gladly build one for $4K

Meshuggah (btw, only 3 "NOS" parts... the mustards in the tone stack and one in the PI. I guess the white Philips are technically NOS, but come on... any cap will work in these positions). Everything else can be ordered from Mouser or Digi-Key or any other number of retailers.
