Just got myself a new Ibanez Premium RG920QM

Set it up how i like it and made all adjustments etc.

Noticed that my fingers rub against the fretboard a LOT more than on my other guitars when im bending strings and doing vibratos. Kinda annoying.

Is there anything i can do to avoid this? Are Ibanez using smaller frets all of a sudden??

This is normal, just wait till the rosewood smoothens down.

Sounds like you are using excessive pressure when fretting to notes. Most modern frets are tall enough that this shouldn't be an issue.

Try oiling the fretboard with a bit of lemon oil too, I found my new RG721 premium had the driest of dry rosewood boards when I first got it. I ended up having to oil it twice as it went bone dry almost immediately after oiling it the first time. Plays like a joy now.

I've been finding that in the last few years, the "jumbo" fretwire on many Asian-built guitars is actually closer to medium-jumbo in size.

i'm an XXL according to international sizes in clothes, but a medium in north american and european sizes....

    even their frets are small

though i hardly ever touch the fret board on my carvin with medium tall frets, i think my next build would be with jumbo frets. lets see
