So I think I'm almost confident enough to buy something, but because the shop doesn't offer returns, thought I'd ask for some help first.

So the situation is that I bought a Vigier Excalibur without a bridge, but had a floyd originally. No problem I thought, but I didn't realize Vigier has its own floyd. It looks like this:

This is the best view I've ever seen of the floyd posts. But so it looks like it's obviously made by Schaller and then hacked up by them or Vigier to fit this different bearing. So I'm thinking I could just get a regular Schaller FRT-II floyd and it would fit. But is there any way to have some more evidence or does anything know this will work? There seem to be so many different thread sizes on various floyd posts.

This is what the vigier insert threads look like:

Any ideas? I have the FRT-II in my cart... but it'd just suck if it came and the posts didn't fit.

Aaaand they were not the right posts. Schaller's shipping these days with fine threads I guess.

Sorry I have nothing useful to contribute but wow that's cool! Had no idea. Seems like an obvious solution to knife edge wear

Yeah I don't think Vigier has a patent (or at least one that would prevent all designs similar), but it is weird since it seems relatively easy design imo to add those needle bearings.

I know Strandberg initially did the needle bearings thing but now do the knife edges. Ola claims it's because of being able to adjust the action better or something, but idk it seems to be par for the course that each new change to the lineup is objectively worse quality-wise than before.
