    Morning all,
After a year of deciding which pickups to buy, I finally ordered some Fishman Fluence Devins, they'll be landing in the next two weeks.

A big part of my hesitation in buying them for so long was simply I felt like for the longest time there was a lack of demos and reviews for them.

So I thought if anyone was like me and on the fence or pickup-curious, I can include what ever you want in some demos,

Whether it's real amps, axe fx, certain tones, DI's, whatever you want, comparisons (although tricky to do accurately, I can see the benefit, I loved that video that Tosin did comparing all of his pickups).

Anyway, if I can help just let me know,

    Pat

if you could do a vid demo with some real amps/no effects I'd be pretty grateful

Best would be to include some DI recording of said pickups linked with the video... that way anyone could try them out @ their home with their gear, in a re-amp fashion...

just some basic metal chugs/trem picking, maybe some wall of sound devin esque stuff. If you feel like throwing in other genres I'd be cool with that too. I'm sure they can do metal no problem.

Looking forward to hearing your opinion. I've been looking at Fishmans for years and don't like what I hear in demos. I can't figure out if there's something wrong with my taste or have they paid people to hype them or maybe somehow actually trying them makes a huge difference (I have not tried). The only artist who has IMO improved his tone is Abasi. Adler did benefit too but his sound was always so muddy before.

I think people like them for multiple voicings. On moderns for example, voice 1 sounds pretty close to an 81.

I think people miss that it's indeed _voicing_ and not feel, expecting to get a passive feel and sound out of them. What I'm personally looking for in an active and especially an 81 is not done better by the Modern model. Still tempted to try them out but I'd have to buy since guitars that come stock with Fishmans are far from my setup. Also would need only a bridge pickup but most places sell sets.

    I'm exactly the same!
The only demo I really like is Sam Bell's devin set review, loved ever minute!

    Hey lads!
Sorry to bump this old, thread but the pickups should be installed in the next couple of days, if there's anything specifically you want to hear or know about the fishman's let me know so I can record this week \m/

I’d love to hear some basic metal riffs. I was deciding between these and the moderns and decided to go with the moderns. But these are still on the radar.
