It's clearly a slab of brown taking up 30% of the guitar in an otherwise orange/green/black color scheme.

    Does this not look better?

Well sure it looks better, but to make it sound that far off is pretty far IMO.

I don't see how Fender has a track record of mismatching necks, majority of their product is maple on maple and maple on rosewood.

With black being that popular, I wonder why those companies don't push phenolic type fretboards. I can get people not liking them on copies of traditional guitars (ie, LPCs) but for this it'd be ideal: low material cost, no wood issues, guitar is modern style. I get that the initial tooling investment might be high, but long term it would be a pretty good move.

because "tRaDiTiOn" thier main target market would still 120% believe they would have far better tOnE with their rosewood/maple boards

I mean, they clear the maple. They might as well clear the richlite or whatever. Glossy black board could be cool,

This reminds me of when I saw Dream Theater back in the mid 00’s while touring with Megadeth. As soon as JP got on stage everyone started shouting at him about the rosewood board on his guitar. Poor guy just seemed so dejected. He should have known the fluorescent lighting common to musical performances would have highlighted the err.

Can confirm, I was the rosewood fretboard.

So we have that event to thank for the current jacked Petrucci? Who'd have thought!

But hey at least he finally saw the light and is using ebony nowadays. We should thank those fans.

Evangelion man, One of the most unexpected WTF! shows I've ever watched. It starts with a bunch of Kids and Robots and by the end you're just, what the hell was that!?

BTW only in Japan you can have a PG cheesy opening soundtrack for an R rated show. Anything goes baby!

You'd be surprised by how many friends told me "hey no way I'm watching that sheet, it's helluvaboring and slow AF".

The number of my friends decreased fast that day.

Hype for the Ayanami jazzmaster tho.

Mate, the way it turned out. It makes Matrix look like child's play. I seriously think they made it so they can trick a bunch of Japanese kids into watching a show with teenagers and robots and by the end of it they're all mind fucked for life! :D:D:D
It was a wicked story though, Shame when Pacific Rim came out, it was nowhere near as sophistocated as Evangelion. It would have to be a 18+ movie for sure.
PS the main kid was a bore butAsuka had spunk, she aiiight :D

Shinji also showed some spunk in the hospital scene towards the end. I didn't think he had it in him.

My actual meaning was, that if you think EVA is a WTF show... you know nothing and I have a list of REALLY wtf shows for you. Japan-style WTF. Mass facepalming guaranteed, genderbent nazis included. At this point I've been a multiclassed weeb for a LONG time, so I have a lot of stock. I remember the first airing of anime of french TV, can't guarantee the year but from the apartment it happened in I know I was less than six, which makes it 1979 at best.
Oh, and I'm a totally unrepentant one. :p

None of you actually posted a pic of the guitar in this thread, for shame.
