Weird question. I like big necks and normally like the feel of a 7 string neck- it just fits better in my big hands. Are there any guitars that are 6 strings, but have more of a 7 string feeling neck? I realize string spacing would be a little further apart and pickups would either have to be blade style or custom made for the string spacing. Just wondering if there are any guitar necks made like this?

Ibanez necks are pretty wide--the necks you'd find on RG's, or S's, for example.

Wider string spacings is due to the nut being wider. You will still be use same bridges then normal pickups working for you!

I think the 2014 Gibson SG's have a wider neck. Also, the Lag Kesia Jones signature.

There was a guy on somewhere doing conversions from 7 to 6 strings. He'd pick a 7 string guitar, change its nut and some times its bridge also... there was a thread about it some time ago, can't really remember when, how nor who...

Ah, a little google search (7 to 6 string conversion) delivered :

Not sure that's what you want...

Get a 7 and then take off one string or just don't play that string.

Or pick up an old used RG7421 and put a 6 string nut on it. Swap the bridge for a 6 and presto.

Warmoth has the Superwide neck, might be more to your liking. 1 7/8" nut width, it's a tank. So much to the effect that another forumite who's name I forget made a seven string strat built around it just so he could the strat headstock shape.
