Bad Religion's Suffer was my first post-Ramones/Sex Pistols exposure to punk, and I loved that album, all the "ooohs and aaahs" reminded me of a barbershop quartet with distorted guitars, lol. Of course, I heard it maybe one or two years before Green Day and the Offspring broke big, and those punk tropes became a pop culture standard.

There were these twin girls in my high school, and one of them was in one of my classes and it was like a study hall or something and pretty lax. I was listening to Bad Religion's Generator and she was like "What are you listening to?" and I said Bad Religion. She said "Can I listen" and I'm like sure here you go and played her "Only Entertainment". She was like "Wow, that's really good for a band with a name like that, and it sounds way better than that other stuff you're always listening to where the guy sounds like he's burping".

“…And our come the wolves” is probably my favorite, but in generally I love just about all punk. It’s my favorite style of music, and it’s rare I hear a song I don’t like. Metal, on the other hand, spans white a spectrum for me - from stuff I have no use for to stuff I absolutely love. But for pure energy and song craft, punk gets it right 99% of the time.

And, as an aside, one of the things I like about punk is that all of the instruments (guitar, bass, drums, vox) are featured evenly. The bass player is able to be much more prominent than in rock, pop, metal, or country.

More of a hardcore punk fan - agnostic front, bulldoze etc.

On the old school punk side of things:
The Exploited - Punks Not Dead
Dead Kennedys - Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables
The Business - Saturday's Heroes (Drinking and Driving is one of my all time fav tunes)

Much like bikers, my favorite thing about punk rockers wanting to be non-conformist/individuals is wearing matching outfits
There was this kid I knew in high school that got into punk music because of me, and one day I opened his myspace to see he had copied and pasted my entire list of bands from my "liked music". I said "fuck off POSER" and proceeded to look up bands I should like to be more punk.

I am *way* more oldschool than most of this thread. When I turn to punk/hardcore it's almost always one of these albums:
Discharge - Hear Nothing See Nothing Say Nothing
GBH - City Baby Attacked By Rats, Leather Bristles Studs Acne
Broken Bones - Dem Bones, Bonecrusher, FOAD
Misfits - Walk Among Us
Bad Brains - S/T, Rock For Light, I Against I
etc.

Three good calls, especially that DKs album.

Lagwagon - Double Plaidinum (most interesting production sound I know on a punkrock album)
NOFX - So long and thanks for all the shoes
No Use for a Name - Leche con Carne
Strung Out - Twisted by Design (these guys could play!)

And many more, but I'd say these were my favorites...
