PDQ’s waffle fries are exactly the same thing and they are open on Sundays. They have hella sauce options too but they need to start bulk buying them and give me like 6.

No fast food fried chicken sandwich will ever come close, though, to a good local joint.

    My local joint:

Granted...that's $14...but still worth it. ha!

I’m giving them as much of my annual fried chicken budget as I can that isn’t already allocated to local places to help them expand. I’m doing my part man. It’s a sacrifice.

At first I got excited by your mention of them because i thought there was one close by...but it looks like they've slightly re-branded in the last couple of years, to "FARE; PDQ".

[edit: nevermind...apparently they've actually permanently closed]

You can rack up $14 at McDonalds or Burger King or Chick-fil-A pretty quick if you're really hungry or with 2 people and not even come close to touching what you've posted there. Paying a little more is absolutely worth it when you get something like that. Man, that looks delicious

Some of the best fried chicken I've ever had came from a gas station out in bum fuck Carabelle, Florida.

Some of the best BBQ I've ever had came from a gas station out in bum fuck Mississippi. May I present: Tay's BBQ

$14/meal is what I just assume I’m going to pay when I grab fast food.

I do too... but $10 for the fast food and $4 for the toilet paper I have to buy on the way home.

No, but I’ve had Jenkins. I do live in the Mecca of BBQ. You ever had a “pecker plate” or a “lil pecker” from Woodpeckers? That place is outstanding, too.

I will eat my first pick at any opportunity and the second two if I’m desperate. I’m a career butcher so fast food beef is almost exclusively a no-go with pick #1 being the exception.

And while we’re on the subject of great food at unexpected places, I’ll add mine:

the best tamales I’ve ever had were sold out of a baby stroller. No there was not a baby in the stroller. And I doubt that correlates. Haha
