I got into Exodus fairly late in the game. Love the old Baloff/Zetro era, but I really love the Rob Dukes stuff. I'm sure a lot of old school fans' heads exploded when they re-recorded Bonded By Blood, but the guitar tone on this is killer.

I'm an old Exodus fan, wore Pleasures Of The Flesh out in my Walkman way back in high school - love all the old albums BUT, I really dig the Dukes-era, also. Shovel Headed Kill Machine,Exhibit A, and especially Exhibit B rule...Beyond the Pale, The Ballad of Leonard & Charles, Deathamphetamine...some great stuff on those albums and Holt and crew just rip. I actually wish Rob was still fronting them, no hate for Zetro at all, I just dig Dukes more for some reason.

That tone does indeed kick ass. I love how chunky the palm mutes are.

I only ever had ‘Shovel Headed Kill Machine’, really like that album. I’m still late to the game.

I also prefer Rob vocals. Wish Gary would stick to his ENGL, that tone was great. Today he is all marshalls and Kempers. Exibit B is just crushing album.

Bonded By Blood was the only one I sort of got into.

I can't really listen to the new stuff, it sounds like plastic to me.

Shovel Headed Kill Machine is one of the reasons I bought a Peavey XXX lol
Fucking killer album. I love the tone that Gary had on that album.

Exodus is like Testament or Kreator for me, where they're one of the very few 80s thrash bands that managed to consistently put out great stuff even decades later.

I’ll prob get roasted for this but I prefer the later exodus over the older classic stuff. From tempo of the damned on they are just on fire! (Still Love bonded by blood though)

Love some of the more recent stuff. Only issue with the Dukes era was some of the lyrics were a little unpleasant. Riffs for daaaaaaays though! Can't wait for new stuff.

I've been a fan since 1985. Literally. Always a great live show, no matter which singer is involved, but it's always better with Hunting.

Since "Fabulous Disaster" there's been quite a bit of hit and miss, but when they hit - "Atrocity Pt2", "Blood In, Blood Out" - they really do hit.

My biggest gripe with Let There Be Blood is the first few bars of A Lesson In Violence being completely wrong and them not bothering to rerecord that. The whole album kind of seems like it was thrown together really fast.

they are slightly less cringe than Zetro lyrics imo

and yeah I haven't liked the production as much since Exhibit B, Sneap has switched to kemper on everything and it blows

Love the frack out of Tempo of the Damned, but I never really vibed with anything else they released that I've heard.

Any tips on where to give them another try?

Very much in the Dukes era camp. Saw them at Wacken in 2008 which then released as a show. Pummelling live act

I'm all about Pleasures of the Flesh and Fabulous Disaster. The title track to the latter and Choose Your Weapon are two of my favorite thrash songs, period.

Also, I may or may not have literally banged my head against the stage during Bonded by Blood 3 of the 5 times I've seen them.

Did anyone else see the one tour they had Steev Esquivel from Skinlab/Defiance fill in on vocals? I wanna say it was Megadeths first tour after "splitting up" then coming back to do The System Has Failed.

Dukes vocals are solid but he was a clown on stage so I was glad to see him get the boot to bring Zetro back.

I wish there was footage of the two shows they did with Chuck Billy on vocals after Zetro was fired in 2004/2005.

honestly the 2nd best classic era album (after Bonded by Blood). Several of the songs sound like they could fit on Shovel Headed Kill Machine

Force of Habit was fine. Definitely the weakest of the era, but still fine.

I love FoH the album that got me in to Exodus

    This is 100% right.
Tempo of the Damned, Shovel Headed Kill Machine & The Atrocity Exhibition Exhibit A are all amazing, those 3 and Testaments Demonic, Gathering and Low imo are all brilliant and my favourite Thrash albums. Kreator deserve their own thread I love them
