TIL that ESP can do Kiesel better than Kiesel. Thanks for all the pics and info @Ikke- those are some insane guitars.

I tracked down the owner of that exact guitar a year ago or so in hopes of him selling it - no dice. He had it refinished by Marty Bell into that awesome neon green.

well i guess that what i want is a Horizon-CTM NT, with a fixed bridge vs a TOM. i'll see if i can get that going..
on another note, what are some excellent ESP custom shop dealers around that i could contact for quotes and stuff?

I would contact Jason at Drum City Guitarland...been selling custom shop one of a kind ESP guitars since the 80's.
I have seen some INSANE custom shop one-offs in there with price tags to match. He just had one with light up eyes on the skull, blood stained fingerprints on part of the board...off the hook. Near 20k.

Thank you. I definitely can help. I ended up getting a large number of the 2020 Exhibition models pictured above (not the one in the original post, that went to Germany I believe), and do custom shop builds all the time :)

The teardrop? It’s not new. It’s just less common outside of Japan.

You’ll notice ESP Japan has never made an exhibition Horizon with the dagger stock.

Life keeps bringing me back to you Nick, lol.
Already had a hard time keeping myself from getting one of them red RGDs. because i was (am?, i dont know anymore) saving for the purple mist 594, but then i saw this ESP and im like welp..
I'll be contacting you as soon as the mxn stabilizes, should take a couple months assuming the heaviest market hit has happened already.

Is that the reason ESP only does the pointy headstock reverse now? I've been wanting to find a Horizon 1 with the regular pointy headstock but there never seems to be one.

Not sure what you mean. The Horizon dagger headstock is not reversed on any of the production models and was rarely reversed on the Horizon Custom.

Very hard to understand why ESP ships these to some obscure Indonesian dealer. The price is even more ridiculous. I thought some J Customs were way overpriced. Imagine what kind of a Duvell you would get for that price...

the prices of the exhibition series have really skyrocketed the past few years. granted the designs have been nicer and more intricate but the price has almost doubled in a span of 3-4 years. For example, very similar looking snappers cost 760k yen list in 2018 but 2 years later its selling at 1150k, a 50% increase

maaan, now im just sitting here trying to figure out ways to justify a 14k expense during covid lmao. ive been lucky enough to have kept my job, i dont wanna press said luck, buuuutttt i mean look at it.
also, for whatever reason i feel that i could call @zimbloth and try to recreate on the custom shop, for like half that price. maybe not 100% of the specs, but something close enough.

i think for the exhibition, we are paying a lot for the "branding". I just got my CS build placed and ESP japan gave me a top meant for exh 2021 with a price way lower than 14k. I am very sure if you went thru the CS and maybe didnt need the fancy back, you can get something 90% similar for half the cost

i was justifying spending this amount of money during this period - but the other side of me spoke to say "you never know whats going to happen tomorrow, so just make yourself happy".

there's no doubt the exhibitions are more involved and more expensive than if you ordered your own custom :)
